The exact checklist we are using to start @helmo.ie from zero.
You have about 3 seconds before someone decides to follow or leave. This checklist makes those 3 seconds count.
1. The top of your profile
- Profile photo you can read when it's tiny: one symbol or your face, no small text. @helmo.ie Our H symbol, big, on blue. The small "HELMO" text under it is the next thing to go.
- Name field with the words people search for (it shows up in Instagram search). Up to 30 characters. @helmo.ie Helmo | Business and Life Systems & AI
- Bio line 1: what you do, in plain words. @helmo.ie Simple systems to run your business and your life.
- Bio line 2: what someone gets by following you. @helmo.ie Stories, tools and practical AI every week.
- Bio line 3: who's behind it or one clear next step. @helmo.ie Built by Victor Marino
- Links: only the ones that matter (offer, contact, free resource). Up to 5. @helmo.ie Not done yet. First link: our free tools page.
- Contact button (email or WhatsApp) turned on in your professional account. @helmo.ie Not done yet.
2. The 3 pinned posts (your shop window)
- Pin 1, a reason to interact: a free resource, a guide or a tool people get by sending a DM. @helmo.ie The Helm Check: a free 3-minute score of your business, your life and your AI use.
- Pin 2, why this account exists: your story and your 2 or 3 content pillars. @helmo.ie Starting from zero: building @helmo.ie in public. Pillars: organized business, organized life, practical AI.
- Pin 3, what you offer: your main product or service, explained simply. @helmo.ie Custom systems for small businesses, and Zygo, an assistant for families. Coming next.
- Every pinned post has a cover that explains itself in one look. @helmo.ie "Starting from zero" and "Claim your reward": you know what's inside before you tap.
- Pin them in reverse order: Instagram shows the last pinned post first. @helmo.ie We will pin Pin 3 first and Pin 1 last, so the free tool shows up first.
3. Highlights
- Start here: what this account is and what to look at first. @helmo.ie Not done yet. Planned: Start here, Who's behind, Systems, Zygo, Free tools.
- Who's behind: a photo or illustration of you and one honest sentence. @helmo.ie Planned: a cartoon of Victor and one sentence about why he started.
- Products or services: one highlight per offer. @helmo.ie Planned: one for Systems, one for Zygo.
- Free stuff: where people find your free resources. @helmo.ie Planned: this checklist and the Helm Check.
- Highlight covers in the same style and colors. @helmo.ie Planned: blue background, white icon, same as the profile photo.
4. Before you post anything else
- Your first 6 to 9 posts planned, so the grid doesn't look empty. @helmo.ie Our first 6 posts were written before we posted the first one.
- A promise you can keep: how often you post and about what. @helmo.ie It is line 2 of our bio: stories, tools and practical AI every week.
- A short reply ready for the first DMs and comments, so nobody waits. @helmo.ie Comment START and this checklist arrives by DM in seconds.
5. After 30 days, check
- Which posts got saved and sent the most (that's what to repeat). @helmo.ie We'll share our numbers on day 30.
- How many people visited your profile vs. how many followed (if it's low, fix the bio and the pinned posts). @helmo.ie Same: day 30, in public.
- Which questions came up in DMs (those are your next posts). @helmo.ie We'll turn the first questions into posts.
